This project focuses on the limitations those with arthritis face to create a razor handle that can be used by everyone. Axcel makes shaving easier by bringing comfort and precision to the user.

Millions of people struggle to perform everyday tasks due to arthritis, such as personal care routines.

Shaving in particular serves as a challenge.
understanding the problem
The red references where inflammation occurs. In more severe cases, the space between the thumb and the first finger begins to increase.

This deformation makes it challenging to grip thin objects, such as a razor handle.

For some, shaving is part of their identity.

A condition should not force them to an entire lifestyle change.

The slanted ledge somewhat secures the user's hand, but it could only be left or right hand friendly. Additionally the user wouldn't be able to apply pressure.

This mockup addressed the ambidextrous problem but it still wasn't optimal for applying pressure.
During the ideation process, I created mockups to have my users test.

The third mock-up was the most comfortable and versatile of the three based off user feedback.
